Heading back to Mexico...

Drew and I leave for Mexico Sunday morning! We are really excited to be going together this year and taking about 21 people from our church. Last year I went solo with a big group of people that I barely knew. I came back with wonderful friendships and really fun memories. Jason and Adrienne led our team and this year they have encouraged and blessed Drew and I by trusting the trip to us!

A year ago I sat on a dusty bed at Motel Sanchez and chatted the day away with a beautiful woman I barely knew. I could not have even imagined what my God had in store for me. I knew that she had hope and faith that I had only dreamed of...I didn't know that He wanted it for me too. I didn't know that over the next year He would use that woman and more that I didn't even know yet, to teach me about who He is, to teach me about hope, joy, peace, faith, truth... how to use frosting as lipstick and much more ;)

This was just going to be a post about how we were going to Mexico, but as I sit here and write I realize that this marks a year for some really special things in my heart. Some really cool beginnings.

This summer I go back with new hope, healing, grace and truth that The Lord has given me this past year through Adrienne's friendship. I can't believe the life and healing that one year has brought. God is who He says He is and He really does make all things new.

Drew and I have been truly blessed in our first year of marriage. We are loved, challenged, encouraged, enjoyed and prayed for by amazing people. The Lord has placed them in our lives and we couldn't be more thankful.

So, as we head back to that dusty little town in Mexico to love on people and learn more about the character of Christ I ask you to pray for us. Pray for the people we will meet, for us as leaders and for the people on our team. Who knows, maybe this year will mark some really cool beginnings for another girl just sitting on a dusty bed at Motel Sanchez who catches a glimpse of a hope that has the power to change everything.
